San Diego Motorcycle and Car Collision on Balboa Avenue Puts Rider In Hospital

Two Injured in Motorcycle Accident in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 31, 2024) – Two people sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on Balboa Avenue near Gerald Griffin Driveway on Thursday evening, San Diego Police reported.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:54 p.m. in the 7700 block of Balboa Avenue when a 2016 Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycle collided with a 2018 Mazda CX-3. According to officers, the 29-year-old Mazda driver was entering the intersection on a green light when, for reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle broadsided the vehicle.

21 Year Old Rider Was Transported To A Nearby Hospital With A Ruptured Aorta

Paramedics transported the 21-year-old motorcyclist to the hospital with a ruptured aorta. And also, the medical staff treated his 21-year-old passenger for a fractured tailbone and a black eye. So, both remain under medical care.
