Motorcyclist Injured in Crash with Vehicle in Barrio Logan Area of San Diego; Driver Suspected of DUI

SAN DIEGO, CA (December 17, 2021) – Late in the afternoon on Wednesday in San Diego, a motorcyclist was injured in a crash with a vehicle. The December 15 crash occurred in the Barrio Logan area, on Harbor Drive in the 2400 block.

The time was roughly 5:00 p.m., San Diego Police said.

According to authorities, the motorcyclist struck a vehicle–described as a Nissan Versa–broadside. The driver of the Nissan, which had been parked at the curb, executed a left turn from the curb, authorities suspect.

The impact of the crash threw the rider from the motorcycle.

Responders transported the patient to the hospital. The person suffered a broken leg, authorities said.

The motorcyclist was identified only as 24 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

The person who was driving the Nissan was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The driver was identified only as 41 years old. His name and city of residence have also not been reported.

Investigators are continuing their work on the motorcycle crash.
