Motorcyclist killed on 134 Freeway in Toluca Lake
August 15th ─ one person was killed in a motorcycle crash that shut down transition roads on the Ventura (134) Freeway in Toluca Lake of the San Fernando Valley early Monday morning. The incident occurred just after 9:00 a.m. when California Highway Patrol received reports of motorcycle involved in a collision on the eastbound 134 freeway at Cahuenga Boulevard. According to authorities, the motorcyclist had crashed into the center dividing K-rail of the freeway. The motorcyclist was then struck by several vehicles on the freeway. The only information released to the public is that the motorcyclist was a 38-year old man from Reseda.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. All lanes of the southbound 101 Hollywood freeway transition to the 134 Ventura freeway were closed, along with all southbound lanes of the 170 Hollywood and the 134 Ventura freeway. This caused a major sig alert that had traffic stretching for miles during the morning’s rush hour commute. The closure was put in place so that the Los Angeles Coroner and California Highway Patrol officials could complete their investigations. All lanes were back open shortly after 9 a.m. and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
