San Diego Motorcycle Crash on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Critically Injures Rider

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 29, 2022) – Late at night on Sunday in San Diego, a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck critically injured the rider. The June 26 crash occurred in the Kearny Mesa area, on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in the 9000 block.

The time was roughly a little before 11:00 p.m., according to John Buttle. Buttle is an officer with San Diego Police.

The motorcyclist was heading east on Clairemont Boulevard and a vehicle–described as a Penske truck–is suspected of making a turn to the right in the motorcyclist’s path.

The motorcycle and the truck collided.

Responders transported the motorcyclist to the hospital. He suffered injuries that include multiple fractures to his spine and a lung injury.

His injuries were described as life threatening.

He was identified only as 27 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

The truck’s driver was identified only as 53 years old. His name has also not been reported.

Reports say no other injuries occurred in the crash.

Investigators are continuing to collect information and details regarding the collision.
