Motorcyclist Dies in San Marcos Crash with Pickup Truck

SAN MARCOS, CA (January 25, 2022) – Late in the morning on Monday in San Marcos, a motorcycle and a pickup truck crashed, killing the rider. The January 24 crash occurred where Borden Road and Mulberry Drive intersect.

The time was roughly 11:00 a.m., the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

According to reports, the motorcycle was traveling on Borden Road and heading west. The pickup truck–described as a Chevrolet Colorado–had been traveling on Mulberry Drive and heading north.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Responders arrived and transported the rider to Palomar Medical Center. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased in the hospital.

He was identified only as 62 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

The person who was driving the pickup was not hurt in the crash, reports say. He was identified only as 31 years hold. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

Investigators are working to collect information regarding the crash.
