San Diego Motorcycle Crash Kills Rider in Mission Beach

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 7, 2022) – On Sunday night in San Diego, a crash involving a motorcycle and a car killed the rider. The February 6 crash occurred in Mission Beach, on Mission Boulevard at Pacific Beach Drive.

The time was roughly 9:40 p.m., San Diego Police said.

According to police, the motorcyclist is believed to have been traveling at a fast speed on Mission Boulevard. He is suspected of going through a light that was red at the Pacific Beach Drive intersection.

The motorcycle collided with a Volkswagen Tiguan, authorities said.

Responders transported the rider to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital.

He was identified only as 25 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

Responders transported the driver to a hospital for treatment of injuries. She was identified only as 62 years old.

Her name and city of residence have not been reported.

Investigators are continuing to work on the crash.
