SOUTH EL MONTE, CA (November 9, 2021) – Candace Ostler was identified as the person who was killed in a motorcycle crash in South El Monte on Saturday night. Ostler was struck by a hit-and-run driver as she was lying on the roadway.

The November 6 crash occurred where the 60 Freeway westbound transitions to the 605 Freeway northbound.

The time was roughly 7:25 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities said Ostler had been riding a motorcycle and she struck a guardrail along the freeway. The impact threw her from the motorcycle onto the ground.

A vehicle–described only as a sedan with four doors–struck her while she was in the roadway. The driver did not stop and remain at the crash site.

Ostler was killed in the incident. She was a resident of Chino Hills, 32 years old.

Investigators are searching for the hit-and-run driver. If anyone has information about the incident, the person can contact Officer K. Tao or Officer A. Hamel.

The number is 562-868-0503.
