LAPD Seeks Suspect That Killed A 15-Year-Old in a Hit-and-Run Motorized Bike Collision
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 28, 2024) — A hit-and-run accident early Monday morning claimed the life of 15-year-old Joseph Rangel in the Westlake area of Los Angeles. Also, the incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Arapahoe Street.
Authorities report that Rangel was riding a motorized pocket bike northbound on Arapahoe Street when he lost control for unknown reasons. His bike slid into the intersection, and unfortunately, he was struck by an eastbound vehicle. But, instead of stopping to assist, the cowardly driver fled the scene without providing any identification.
15-year-old Joseph Rangel Died From Injuries He Sustained In The Collision
Rangel, a resident of Los Angeles, died from injuries sustained in the collision. The Los Angeles Police Department and the County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed his death.
As of now, police have not released a description of the vehicle or driver involved in the hit-and-run. But fortunately, the LAPD is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
