Motorcyclist Critically Injured in San Diego Hit-and-run Crash on Rosecrans

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 31, 2022) – Late in the afternoon on Tuesday in San Diego, a hit-and-run crash critically injured the rider. The March 29 crash occurred where Rosecrans and Olipant intersect, in the Roseville area.
The time was roughly 5:32 p.m., San Diego Police said.
According to David Gibson, who is a sergeant, an SUV–described as a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport–had been traveling on Rosecrans and heading north. The SUV made a turn to the left, and collided with a motorcycle.
The person who was driving the SUV left the crash site, but reports say a witness to the crash followed the SUV and reported the incident to authorities.
Responders transported the motorcyclist to the hospital. The patient suffered injuries that were described as critical, including a broken arm, broken ribs, and broken leg, as well as internal injuries.
The victim was identified only as 31 years old. The name, gender, and city of residence of the motorcyclist has not been reported.
Police located and arrested the suspect driver in the area of Keats Street and Plum Street, according to Gibson. The suspect hit-and-run driver was identified only as 56 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
