Motorcyclist Killed in Big Rig Crash in Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – A fatal commercial vs. motorcycle accident prompted closures of portions of the 15 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga late Monday evening, February 10th. The incident was reported to California Highway Patrol sometime after 11:30 P.M. on the southbound 15 Freeway just north of Fourth Street. According to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident log, for unknown reasons a motorcycle collided with a big rig causing it to crash into the concrete center divider and burst into flames.
The big rig driver was able to escape the conflagration and was treated on scene for minor injuries by EMT crews. Cell phone video from witnesses shows the motorcyclist becoming trapped and possibly dragged underneath the trailer of the big rig. The rider was located near the crash scene and was pronounced dead by first responders. Crews had the freeway closure down to just two lanes by 4:00 A.M. Tuesday morning and were working to completely reopen the freeway, possibly about 6:00 A.M.
