Oxnard Bicyclist Struck and Killed at Wooley Road

OXNARD, CA (February 16, 2022) – Late at night on Sunday in Oxnard, a bicyclist was struck and killed. The February 13 crash occurred where Factory Lane and Wooley Road intersect.

The time was roughly 10:18 p.m., police said.

The bicyclist was riding on the shoulder on the right-hand side of the road, and a vehicle–which authorities said was going at a fast speed–struck the bicyclist.

The force of the crash threw the bicyclist to the ground. The bicyclist died at the crash site.

The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. He was identified only as a resident of Oxnard, 27 years old. His name has not been reported.

Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.
