San Diego Motorcycle Crash on I-15 Injures Rider

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 13, 2022) – Late in the afternoon on Tuesday in San Diego, a hit-and-run crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle injured the rider. The July 12 crash occurred on I-15, close to Gopher Canyon Road and to the south of it.

The time was roughly 4:10 p.m., according to Hunter Gerber. Gerber is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist was traveling north on the freeway, according to Gerber. Authorities allege a vehicle–described as an SUV, dark in color–which had been in front of the motorcycle, made a lane change.

The motorcycle hit the rear end of the SUV.

According to authorities, the SUV–which may have been a Chevrolet Tahoe–left the crash site.

Responders transported the rider to a local hospital. She suffered injuries that were described as major.

She was identified only as a resident of Temecula, 27 years old. Her name has not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the driver, who has not been described.
