Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on 710 Near The Clara Street Bridge

SOUTH GATE, CA (November 21, 2024) — A motorcyclist died following a crash involving an SUV on the 710 Freeway near the Clara Street Bridge on Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The collision occurred around 5:00 p.m. for reasons that remain under investigation. Authorities say the motorcyclist became trapped beneath the SUV during the crash.

Motorcycle Accident Causes Major Traffic Delays On 710 Freeway

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and issued a SigAlert for the southbound No. 1, 2, and 3 lanes, causing significant traffic delays in the area.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. Unfortunately, the identity of the victim has not yet been released, and also, officials have not confirmed the circumstances leading to the collision.

CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and has urged anyone with information to come forward.
