Los Angeles, CA (April 24, 2019) – Los Angeles Police Department is confirming that a local A&E Channel personality Barry Weiss from the program “Storage Wars” was hospitalized suffering from broken bones and internal injuries following a severe motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon, April 24th. According to local news outlets, 67-year old Barry Weiss and a friend were riding their motorcycles in Los Feliz, a hillside neighborhood in Los Angeles, when they were struck by a vehicle sometime around 2:30 P.M.
Witnesses described seeing a vehicle pull out from a parking spot without checking for oncoming traffic causing Weiss and his friend to both collide into the back of the vehicle. Weiss and his friends were both transported by ambulance to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit where he was listed in stable condition. Authorities have determined that alcohol and drugs did not play a factor in the collision.
Weiss is well known as the eccentric antique collector who has appeared on A&E’s “Storage Wars” where he was showcased for his antics and for driving classic cars. Weiss appeared on 4 seasons of “Storage Wars” before leaving to star in a spinoff called “ Barry’d Treasure”. Weiss is the second original member of the show who has been hospitalized in recent months. Darrell Sheets, another cast member from “Storage Wars” was also hospitalized last month suffering from a mild heart attack.
