Motorcycle Accident in Long Beach Leaves Female Passenger Dead

LONG BEACH, CA (October 1, 2024) – A woman was killed in a motorcycle accident on East Ocean Boulevard near Kennebec Avenue on Tuesday evening, October 1. The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Motorcycle Drifted Into Incoming Traffic Before It Collided With A Mitsubishi Eclipse

The woman was a passenger on a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle traveling eastbound when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle drifted into the westbound lanes. It collided with a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse heading in the opposite direction.

The impact ejected both the male motorcycle driver and the female passenger. Therefore, Long Beach firefighters responded to the scene and rushed both to a nearby hospital, where the woman tragically died from her injuries.

They will release the victim’s identity after family members have been notified.

Police believe speed may have played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact LBPD Collision Investigation Detail Detective Kevin Johansen at 562-570-7355.
