Bicyclist Struck and Killed By Private Commuter Bus in Santa Clara

Santa Clara, CA (October 25, 2018) – A man was struck and killed by a bus on Thursday evening, October 25th, as he was cycling home on his commute, police said. The incident occurred at 5:21 p.m. as commuter bus was turning right onto Great American Parkway from Bunker Hill Lane and struck the unnamed 49-year-old bicyclist.

Investigations revealed that the bicyclist was properly in designated lanes and was under a green light when he was riding southbound on Great American Parkway. Officials responded to the scene promptly, but the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Santa Clara Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash.
