San Diego Motorcycle Crash on Coronado Ave. Injures Rider

SAN DIEGO, CA (April 22, 2022) – Early in the evening on Thursday in San Diego, a motorcycle and a car collided, injuring the rider. The April 21 crash occurred in the neighborhood of Egger Highlands, on Coronado Avenue in the 1600 block.

The time was roughly 6:51 p.m., according to Robert Heims. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.

The motorcyclist had been heading east on Coronado Avenue. A car–described as a Toyota Corolla–was traveling west on the same street.

Reports say the Toyota made a turn to the left to 16th Street. The motorcycle–which was oncoming–collided with the car that turn in front of it, reports say.

Responders transported the rider to the hospital. He suffered injuries that included a broken left leg.

He was identified only as 69 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

The three occupants of the Toyota were not injured in the crash, according to reports. The car’s driver has not been identified.

Investigators are continuing work to collect information about the crash.
