Culver City, CA (April 9, 2022) – A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Culver City, claiming the life of a 30-year-old Los Angeles man. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has identified the victim as Brian Carlton.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received reports of the accident at 12:56 a.m. on the northbound freeway, just south of Venice Boulevard. Officer Patrick Kimball from the CHP reported that a car and a motorcycle collided, causing the car to become fully engulfed in flames while the motorcycle rider was down in the HOV lane.

Witnesses, who were present at the scene, reported the incident to the CHP. Unfortunately, the authorities pronounced Carlton dead at 1:07 a.m.

At 1:05 a.m.They closed the northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway. Authorities reopened the two right lanes at 3:50 a.m., and they reopened the remaining lanes at around 4:30 a.m.

The CHP is still investigating the cause of the accident, and they have not released any further details at this time.
