Oxnard Crash Kills Motorcyclist on Highway 101; Hit-and-run Driver Arrested

OXNARD, CA (November 9, 2022) – Late at night on Sunday in Oxnard, a hit-and-run driver struck a motorcycle, killing the rider. The November 6 crash occurred on Highway 101, near Rice Avenue and to the north of it.
The time was roughly a little after 10:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle–described as a Honda Civic–was traveling on the roadway, and authorities allege the Honda’s driver struck the rear end of a motorcycle.
The driver ran from the crash site, authorities allege.
Responders found the motorcyclist was killed in the crash.
The victim was identified only as 59 years old. The name, gender, and city of residence of the person has not been reported.
Authorities later arrested the suspect hit-and-run driver in Camarillo, on suspicion of felony DUI, felony hit and run, and murder.
He was identified as Anthony Pacheco III, resident of Oxnard, 31 years old.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash details.
