Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on State Route 78 Near El Camino Real

OCEANSIDE, CA (June 6, 2025) — A motorcyclist sustained injuries Friday morning following a collision on westbound State Route 78 near El Camino Real, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash was reported at approximately 7:08 a.m. on June 6 and involved a motorcycle and at least one other vehicle. According to witnesses, a white vehicle may have cut off the motorcyclist on the right side, causing the rider to flip from the westbound lanes into the center divider.

Motorcycle Rider Was Found In The Road When Emergency Responders Arrived

Emergency responders arrived quickly to find the rider lying on the ground. The motorcyclist was later moved to the slow lane to receive medical treatment. The severity of the injuries has not been disclosed.

A black BMW with rear-end damage was also found nearby on the right shoulder. CHP officers are investigating whether the vehicle was involved in the collision.

Traffic Was Disrupted Until Debri Could Be Removed From The Road

Traffic in the area was disrupted as several vehicles stopped and debris was scattered across lanes. Tow services were called to remove the motorcycle, and officers worked to clear the roadway.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities ask anyone with information to contact the California Highway Patrol.
