Woman Arrested On Suspected DUI Crash in El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA (January 12, 2025) — A motorcyclist was killed, and a child passenger injured, in a suspected DUI crash on East Main Street near Shady Lane on Sunday afternoon, January 12.

The collision occurred around 4:12 p.m., according to the El Cajon Police Department. A 41-year-old man was riding his motorcycle eastbound when a gold 2004 Chevrolet Suburban made a left turn into his path. The motorcycle collided with the SUV, causing severe injuries to the rider.

Child Passenger Was Transported To Rady Children’s Hospital In San Diego

Despite life-saving efforts, authorities pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. But also, authorities have withheld his identity pending notification of his family.

A child who had been riding on the motorcycle with the victim was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Doctors expect the child to survive.

The driver of the Suburban, a 37-year-old woman, remained at the scene. But unfortunately, police determined she was under the influence of a stimulant at the time of the crash. So then authorities arrested her on suspicion of DUI and booked her into the Las Colinas Detention Facility.

Police Are Still Investigating The Tragic Incident
