Female Motorcycle Rider Critically Injured in Motorcycle Accident On Midway Drive

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 8, 2024) – A motorcycle accident on Midway Drive in San Diego on the evening of October 8 left a 33-year-old woman in critical condition.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman was riding a 2013 Honda Repsol CBR 600RR. She was traveling eastbound toward the 3100 block of Midway Drive around 8:30 p.m. when she struck the raised concrete center island for unknown reasons.  So therefore, the impact ejected her from the motorcycle.

The Woman And Her Bike Slid Into The Westbound Lanes Where Chaos Ensued

Both the rider and the motorcycle slid into the westbound lanes, where they collided with a 2019 silver Dodge Grand Caravan driven by a 20-year-old man. The motorcycle continued to slide and struck a 2018 gray Toyota RAV4 driven by a 32-year-old man.

The woman sustained serious injuries, including a collapsed lung, a fractured collarbone, multiple rib fractures, and lacerations to her liver and spleen. Paramedics rushed her to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The 2 Drivers In The SUV’s, That Critically Injured The Female Motorcycle Rider, Were Unharmed

Neither of the drivers involved in the accident were injured.

The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is conducting an investigation, and authorities confirmed that DUI was not a factor in the crash. They are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
