Pacific Beach Motorcycle Crash involving Teen Driver Seriously Injures Rider

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 16, 2022) – On Tuesday afternoon in Pacific Beach, a crash involving a teen driver injured a motorcyclist. The November 15 crash occurred where Soledad Mountain Road and Loring Street intersect.
The time was roughly 3:20 p.m., according to San Diego Police.
A minivan–described as a Toyota Sienna–was traveling on Loring Street and heading west. Authorities allege the driver of the minivan did not see a motorcycle in the intersection, and the two vehicles collided.
The rider was thrown to the ground.
Responders found the rider suffered injuries that were described as life threatening, including multiple injuries to organs and fracture to the skull.
The rider was identified only as 23 years old. The patient’s name, gender, and city of residence have not been reported.
Responders found the driver of the minivan suffered injuries to his face. He was identified only as 17 years old.
His name and city of residence are not known from reports.
Investigators are continuing their work to collect details and information regarding the crash.
