Riverside Motorcyclist Killed on 215 Fwy Near Center Street

RIVERSIDE, CA (November 20, 2024) – Jose Lucero, 33, of Riverside, died Wednesday afternoon in a tragic motorcycle accident on the 215 Freeway near Center Street.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene at approximately 3:00 p.m. Investigators determined that Lucero’s motorcycle collided with a big rig at an unconfirmed speed for reasons that remain under investigation. The force of the impact caused the motorcycle to overturn in the fast lane, throwing Lucero onto the pavement.

Crash Involving Jose Lucero Brought The 215 Freeway To a Halt

Traffic came to a standstill as the crash unfolded. A trauma surgeon who was among those stuck in the gridlock rushed to assist Lucero before paramedics from the Riverside County Fire Department arrived. Despite their efforts, Lucero succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The CHP has not disclosed what led to the collision and is urging anyone with information about the accident to contact their Riverside office at 951-324-7210.
