Box Truck Injures Boy on E-Scooter On Craig Avenue and Evans Road

MENIFEE, CA (December 5, 2024) – A boy riding an e-scooter was injured Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a box truck at the intersection of Craig Avenue and Evans Road in Menifee.

The accident occurred around 3:00 p.m. under unclear circumstances, according to the Menifee Police Department. A westbound box truck traveling on Craig Avenue struck the juvenile, whose identity has not been released, as he rode his scooter northbound on Evans Road and entered the crosswalk.

The truck driver immediately stopped and waited for police at the scene. Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the boy to a regional trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck remained on site and cooperated with authorities. Police made no arrests and do not suspect that impairment played a role in the crash.
