The California City Police Department stated that around 4:15 p.m. the police and fire departments both responded to a call regarding a motorcycle accident.
Gardena, CA (November 15, 2018) – A Gardena police officer died one day after being hit by a car while riding his police motorcycle to work. The officer was identified as Toshio Hirai according to a Gardena Police department spokesperson. Officer Hirai was injured on Wednesday morning and was taken to the hospital in critical conditions. His death was announced Nov 15, 2018 Thursday night by the department.
Santa Clara, CA (October 25, 2018) – A man was struck and killed by a bus on Thursday evening, October 25th, as he was cycling home on his commute, police said. The incident occurred at 5:21 p.m. as commuter bus was turning right onto Great American Parkway from Bunker Hill Lane and struck the unnamed 49-year-old bicyclist.
Huntington Park, CA (October 21, 2018) – Authorities are investigating a crash involving a 28-year-old motorcyclist who died early Sunday morning, October 21st, in Huntington Park. Pending investigations, police are unsure if other vehicles were involved or if the incident was a hit-and-run collision. At around 2 a.m. that Sunday, police and fire officials responded to the scene of a downed motorcyclist near Florence Avenue and Alameda Street.
Carlsbad, CA (October 14, 2018) – A young motorcyclist was killed after a collision with a car in Carlsbad Sunday afternoon, October 14th, Carlsbad police reported in a news release. The crash occurred at about 4:35 p.m. on Carlsbad Boulevard near Cannon Road, police said. Officers and emergency medical responders arrived at the scene to find a motorcycle and a Toyota Tundra with extensive damage, and transported the 21-year-old motorcyclist to the hospital, who unfortunately passed en route.
