Motorcycle Rider Killed On East Chapman Road in Orange

ORANGE, CA (September 6, 2024) – A motorcycle accident at the intersection of East Chapman Avenue and South Yorba Street in Orange left one person dead and another critically injured on Friday afternoon, according to the Orange Police Department. The fatal collision occurred around 1:48 p.m. on September 6.

The incident happened when a Hyundai Tucson, traveling westbound on Chapman Avenue, made a left turn into a parking lot across traffic. At the same time, a motorcycle with a rider and a passenger was traveling eastbound with the right of way. The SUV collided with the motorcycle in the intersection.

Rider of the Motorcycle Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene

Authorities pronounced the motorcycle rider dead at the scene, while they transported the passenger to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene following the crash.

It is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision, and an investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact Detective Rocha at 714-744-7342.
