SAN JOSE, CA (September 10, 2024) – A bicyclist struck by a car near Capitol Expressway and the Interstate 680 Freeway on Tuesday morning has died, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The fatal incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. under unclear circumstances. A driver hit the cyclist near the ramp to northbound I-680. The motorist stopped at the scene and waited for authorities to arrive, while paramedics quickly responded to provide medical assistance. Despite their efforts, the cyclist was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
