Police Investigating Bicycle Collision on South Jackson Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (August 18, 2024) — San Jose Police reported that a vehicle critically injured a bicyclist Sunday morning in an accident on Jackson Avenue near Bambi Lane.

The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. in the 700 block of South Jackson Avenue.  Unfortunately, police reports indicate that a driver, under unclear circumstances, struck a bicyclist, leaving the victim in critical condition. Also, emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured cyclist was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. But sadly, he eventually succumbed to his injuries

Driver Who Struck The Bicyclist Remained At The Scene And Cooperated With the Investigation

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities as they continue their investigation.

As a result of the accident, police temporarily closed both the north and southbound lanes of South Jackson Avenue to conduct a thorough investigation.
