What is the Best Way to Avoid Running Into an SUV When Riding a Bicycle?

There are several ways to avoid running into a car when riding a bicycle. Here are some tips:

  1. Be visible: Wear bright and reflective clothing and use lights or reflectors on your bike to increase your visibility.
  2. Follow traffic rules: Obey traffic signals, signs, and lane markings, and ride in the same direction as traffic.
  3. Stay alert: Keep your eyes and ears open for potential hazards, such as cars turning or merging into your lane, and avoid distractions like headphones.
  4. Use hand signals: Signal your intentions to turn or change lanes so that drivers can anticipate your movements.
  5. Stay in designated bike lanes: Whenever possible, ride in designated bike lanes or on roads with low traffic volume.
  6. Maintain a safe distance: Keep a safe distance from cars to avoid getting caught in their blind spots or getting hit by a sudden door opening.
  7. Anticipate driver behavior: Be aware of drivers’ behavior and anticipate their next move, especially at intersections and driveways.

Remember that safety should always be your top priority when riding a bike.
