2 Killed in Motorcycle-Auto Crash near Warm Springs

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that left a motorcyclist and a motorist dead in the South Valley Tuesday evening, Sept. 26th. The incident occurred shortly after 8:20 p.m. when LVMPD officers were summoned to the intersection of Warm Springs Road and Paradise Bay Drive, near Eastern Avenue following a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle that had caught fire with heavy flames visible at the scene, police said. Evidence at the scene and witness testimonies indicated the motorcycle was traveling west on Warm Springs at a high rate of speed. A Honda Civic was exiting a residential area on South Paradise Bay Drive, turning left onto Warm Springs from a stop sign when the Honda drove in front of motorcycle. The motorcycle and Honda collided, and both the motorcyclist and driver of the Honda were pronounced dead by first responders.

Motorcyclist Killed in Crash in Northeast Las Vegas Identified

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released the identity of a motorcyclist who was killed during a fatal collision with a vehicle in the northeast Valley Sunday afternoon, September 17th. The incident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. when LVMPD officers responded to a report of a collision near the intersection of East Lake Mead Boulevard and Christy Lane, involving a motorcycle and an SUV. 28-year old Nicholas Turnbull was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on East Lake Mead Boulevard approaching Christy lane. A Saturn Vue, driven by a 75-year old man, was traveling west on East Lake Mead and turned left to go south on Christy. Turnbull’ motorcycle collided with the right passenger-side of the Saturn Vue and was ejected from his seat. He was thrown onto the street where he was found when first responders arrived.

1 Killed in Motor Scooter Crash on 405 Fwy in Inglewood

August 25th ─ a motor scooter driver is dead after a collision that prompted an hours long closure of the 405 freeway’s southbound lanes of traffic near Inglewood early Friday morning. The incident occurred just past 1:45 a.m. when California Highway Patrol officers along with Los Angeles County Firefighters and Paramedics responded to reports of a downed motor scooter and a body in the road, just north of the Florence Avenue exit on the 405 Freeway South. First responders arrived to find the body of a male, believed to be the scooter driver, near West Century Boulevard. The driver had apparently been run over by several vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding CHP officers. According to investigators, 2 vehicles that were involved remained at the scene, but investigators believe more drivers may have left the scene, possibly without knowing they had run over the driver.

Motorcyclist killed on 134 Freeway in Toluca Lake
August 15th ─ one person was killed in a motorcycle crash that shut down transition roads on the Ventura (134) Freeway in Toluca Lake of the San Fernando Valley early Monday morning. The incident occurred just after 9:00 a.m. when California Highway Patrol received reports of motorcycle involved in a collision on the eastbound 134 freeway at Cahuenga Boulevard. According to authorities, the motorcyclist had crashed into the center dividing K-rail of the freeway. The motorcyclist was then struck by several vehicles on the freeway. The only information released to the public is that the motorcyclist was a 38-year old man from Reseda.

Cyclist Killed in Hit-And-Run in Long Beach

August 14th ─ the search continues as Los Angeles Police Department South Traffic Division seeks the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a cyclist, who was trying to stop that driver from fleeing the scene after another cyclist was struck in Long Beach early Monday morning. The incident occurred just after 1:30 a.m. when authorities received calls of collision between 2 cyclists and a black Chevy Tahoe.
