According to preliminary reports, the incident unfolded at approximately 7:55 a.m. Sara Wheaton, a devoted mother of three, was riding her bicycle when an unfortunate chain of events occurred. A driver operating a black pickup truck seemingly lost control for reasons yet unknown. Witnesses recounted the horrifying scene as the pickup jumped a curb, collided with a pole, traversed the intersection, and ultimately struck Sara Wheaton, sending her flying approximately 20 feet from the point of impact. The pickup truck continued its path and came to a halt after colliding with the opposite light pole.

Despite immediate medical attention, Sara Wheaton succumbed to her injuries, leaving her loved ones in a state of profound grief. Her daughter, Elise Wheaton, took to Facebook to share the heartbreaking incident, highlighting the immense loss suffered by their family.

Traffic investigators are diligently working to determine the factors that contributed to the crash. At present, the exact cause remains unknown, and the authorities have not disclosed any information regarding injuries sustained by the driver.
